- More confirmation that the entire game world itself will be called Haiderin.
- Emphasis on the strategic elements of FFXIV, contrasting it to the "timing and quick action" gameplay of XI.
- Reiteration that there will be solo components to XIV. This is basically what killed XI for me. I absolutely hated the fact you couldn't do much with only a solo character. Large groups required for, well, basically anything. Logistics of planning for entire alliances became a strain IRL.
- Hints at Party vs Party battle system. Hopefully this means "Party of Players vs. Party of Mobs", instead of PvP griefing/killsprees. Not interested in that, at all.
- Assurances that the development and support teams for XIV and XI are seperate, and that the lifespan of XI doesn't necessarily end with the launch of XIV. They expect players to jump back and forth between games, but I personally don't see it happening.

ZAM Summary, Connect!On August
ZAM has an article up that recaps info from a recent issue of Connect! On magazine (JPN). Includes Q&A responses from Final Fantasy XIV producer Hiromichi Tanaka and director Nobuaki Koumoto. Several topics discussed, and I'll give my thoughts on anything I already didn't know, that I learned from this article.

FFXI by itself eats up so much time due to the necessity of giving your life over to it to get anything done, I can't see the jumping back and forth either. Although it may be a sign that 14 doesn't require so much time to actually progress in everything, which is a good thing.
