Getting back into Red Dead, so I wanted to save this for future viewing.

Stat Modifiers (Placebo+1)

FFXIV stuff follows. Hey, you were warned...

I want some true answers from players, about something.

I've been reading some posts online, from players complaining they can't see the actual benefits, from certain stat modifiers. Posts like this one:

I don't know about STR, but I can tell you from my tests with a parser that DEX is worthless. I originally had my DEX up to about 70, my parser showed about a 56% hit chance (that's with misses and evades counted in...ugh). I then took the next few hours removing my DEX. It's now down to 46, my parser still shows me at 56% chance to hit. I'm now working on upping my STR, VIT, and MND to their caps. (source)

I HATE how SquareEnix has decided to leave it up to various "community sites", to collect and disseminate info about their MMO, by the only means they can: simple trial and error. Then when SE (or its loyal legion of propaganda bots) doesn't like the results people report, they accuse the FF community of "misunderstanding", and "spreading false rumors".

Like this one? Who can be sure. SE isn't talking.

It would probably help things along, if SE could, oh I dunno, occasionally find it within their omnipotent benevolence to put out some official concrete information, and detailed descriptions of the various (semi-ambiguous) features in the game they're trying to sell to the public. It damn sure wouldn't hurt.

Maybe they'll have an official game guide out, by the time I start up on PS3 release. Assuming that still sees the light of day.

I Still Has A Blog

Haven't wrote anything in forever. Checking to see if this thing still works.

Just sat through a discussion, that basically 'informed' me of several 'facts':

Fallout 3 Samurai Armor

Just discovered that one of my current games, Fallout 3, has some interesting gear in common with my previous gaming fave, FFXI.

You know I MUST HAVE THIS.

Apparently all I need to do is go visit an alien Mothership that is hovering some miles above the earth, deal with a few alien invaders, and attempt to liberate some people that were abducted from various time periods in the past.

And then maybe kill the poor bastard who happens to be wearing it, after I rescue him.

Or maybe if my {Language} {Skill} is still {Impossible to gauge}, I can talk him into giving it to me?

Fushigi Ball

After watching TV this fine Sunday morning, I've determined I need a Fushigi ball. Immediately.

OK, I probably don't need one. But I'm intrigued. I think our cat would like one, so he could watch it go back and forth in the air. It looks both relaxing and worrisome, all at the same time. It seems like a harmless plastic toy, but one of those special plastic toys that could easily sprout a blade and come flying at your forehead.
